What is the story of Ramayan?

Mantra

श्री राम जय राम जय जय राम ।

śrī rāma jaya rāma jaya jaya rāma

Glory to Rama, Glory to Rama, Glory, Glory to Rama.

RasaवीरVeeravalour and righteous resolve

Bhavya Kavikala Arts condenses Valmiki's epic into a single evening — one arc of light from the gardens of Ayodhya to the burning of Lanka.

The staging keeps the spine of the katha: Kaikeyi's two boons and a prince who accepts fourteen years of exile without argument; Lakshmana, the brother who simply refuses to stay behind; the golden deer, and Sita carried across the sky while old Jatayu falls defending her. Then the counter-movement — Hanuman leaping the ocean with Rama's ring, the vigil in the ashok vatika, a bridge of floating stones, and the ten-headed king of Lanka brought down by the exile he dismissed. It ends where tradition holds the first Diwali began: Ayodhya lighting lamps for a prince coming home.

Rama is carried by the company ensemble rather than a star name — this production treats the story itself as the protagonist, with Kavitaa Singh's live vocals and the mridangam moving the narration from episode to episode.

The wardrobe is the repertoire's largest: 200 hand-stitched costumes for the 60+ artists, set against a 40-foot LED backdrop that turns from Ayodhya's saffron to Lanka's fire. Arpit Sharma directs; the telling is in Hindi.
