Bhavya Kavikala Arts stages Shiv Shakti as one story told twice — Sati's fire and Parvati's penance, the two halves of a single universe.

The katha opens at Daksha's great yajna, to which every god is invited except Shiva. Sati goes anyway, hears her husband insulted before the assembly, and gives her body to the sacrificial fire. Shiva's grief becomes the Tandava — the dance that tradition holds could unmake creation itself. The second movement answers the first: Sati reborn as Parvati, the mountain-king's daughter, wins by austerity what no beauty could command — years of tapasya that end with Shiva as her bridegroom, and with the union the shastras picture as Ardhanarishvara, god and goddess sharing one body.

Mata Parvati is played by the actor Meenakshi Seshadri, with Kavitaa Singh's live vocals driving the Tandava sequences over the mridangam and the full live ensemble.

Around them, 60+ artists in 170 hand-stitched costumes raise Mount Kailash on a 40-foot LED backdrop — ash-white for the ascetic's mountain, deep indigo for the cosmic night. Directed by Arpit Sharma, the Hindi-language evening runs about two and a half hours.
