Bhavya Kavikala Arts opened its stage with Radha Krishna Leela — the Vrindavan of Makhanchori and the Maharaas, still the company's flagship.
The show follows the katha through its best-loved episodes: the child who raids Yashoda's butter-pots and, caught with mud in his mouth, shows his mother the whole universe inside it; the boy who dances the serpent Kaliya into submission on the Yamuna; the cowherd who lifts Govardhan hill on one finger to shelter Braj from Indra's week of rain. It closes on the Maharaas of Sharad Purnima, where tradition holds Krishna multiplied himself so that every gopi danced with him alone — and on Radha, whose love gives the leela its name.
Directed by Arpit Sharma and carried by Kavitaa Singh's live vocals over the mridangam, the production moves its 60+ artists through 160 hand-stitched costumes against a 40-foot LED backdrop, from Yamuna dawn to the moonlit raas.
Radha Krishna Leela premiered at Jaipur's B M Birla Auditorium on 30 October 2025, co-presented with First India News — with Rajasthan Minister Shri K. K. Vishnoi attending as Chief Guest.
